Are you wondering how you will keep your pre-teen and/or teenage kids busy during Spring Break, and maybe even summer time? If you have a full-time job that you still have to go to while your kids are out of school, you may feel hesitant about letting them be on their own or with other kids their age. Perhaps you could make staying at home a little more tempting by renting a video game console.
Sure, most parents would love to know that their kids are being “productive” and enjoying activities other than sitting in front of the television for most of the day. But for one, it IS Spring Break and a chance for them to be kids and have some fun! Also, there are probably some educational ways to utilize a video game system and split the time between learning and fun. There are actually quite a few games available that are either educational or active play games to keep them moving and get some exercise.
If you already have an entertainment center, it should be easy to just pop a game system onto one of the shelves for easy storage and let the kids rent a few games. This way, your mind can be at ease and you will probably be able to focus on work more since your kids are occupied in the safety of your own home. If you don’t have any experience with PlayStation PS3 or Microsoft XBox video game consoles, your kids could probably ask around at school (if they haven’t already) and get the scoop on what system would be best to have for your family. Overall, sounds like a win-win situation when you know your kids will be happy and allow you to get some work done! This may even be a great idea for parents that work from home – occupy the kids so that you can focus in your home office!
