With the holidays upon us, there are so many activities to enjoy! One activity that has always been enjoyable for my family is a day of cookie baking. For families of all sizes and ages, making a weekend afternoon into a holiday baking day can really be a lot of fun!
For families with very little ones, the key is to keep it simple. First, bake or buy plain sugar cookies. Gather the kids at the kitchen table and put out the cookies, some white frosting or icing, and some candies for decoration. Whatever is on hand will work! Let them use M&M’s, Reeses Pieces, smashed up candy canes, or even goldfish or pretzel crackers to decorate their cookies. I guarantee your kids will think their cookies are the most delicious ever, whatever they use for decorating.
After the cookie making is done, why not heat up some milk on the stove or in the microwave and make steaming hot chocolate to enjoy with the cookies? Enjoy the season, in every way you can. This is the stuff that memories are made of!
